EXCELLENT Based on 235 reviews Sven H2025-03-27Verified Magic Lapland Exzellente und super engagierte Betreuung durch Peter und das Team; wunderbare Eindrücke sowie Zugang zu Plätzen, die ich allein nie gefunden hätte. Takk Peter! Lori B2025-03-26Verified Adventure of a lifetime! Hardly know where to start but I see others on the trip have highlighted all the things we did, so won’t repeat that. Everything was true to the itinerary and the wonderful pictures posted by Peter Rosen and David Evans. As a very new, inexperienced photographer it was quite an experience. They both provided lots of help and advice in advance and their limitless patience on the trip was so appreciated. They promised that being inexperienced would not be a problem and they more than delivered! Cliff and I learned so much, made wonderful friends and will never forget the adventure. The day of dogsledding was a huge highlight. We actually enjoyed the two walks we took, just for the calm and photo opportunities. The food was delicious and plentiful and the accommodations better than ever expected. Thank you David and Peter for the experience of a life time. Myriam F2025-03-10Verified Gorgeous Nature, Wonderful Host and Amazing Packed Program This experience was truly magical. While the presence of Auroras is never a guarantee, Peter made sure to be prepared for alternatives to add interest to night photography if the northern lights decided not to dance. Luckily for us, we got to see them 3/4 nights. Peter knows the area and how to read the weather to ensure you go to the place with the best chance of seeing the lights. His expertise of the area alone made the entire trip worth it to me, but it was so much more than just a northern light chase. The program for the days was fully-packed and filled with wonderful experiences. The Abisko Valley and Kiruna offer gorgeous views, wildlife spotting opportunities and the ice hotel felt like the visit to a museum sprinkled in between. Not once did we get a boring minute, from trying to find a hormonal capercaillie, to distinguishing ptarmigan from snowballs, riding a dog sleigh over a frozen river and having fika in the middle of a lake or being awestruck by mountain reflections in a Norwegian fjord. This tour left me wanting for nothing but a bit more time to soak it all in.The food was delicious, the group size small enough that you could get to know everyone and the entire dynamic was great. Peter is an expert in his field and offers up so much knowledge with patience and kindness and has been an exceptional host.If you want to see Lapland and the Northern Lights--this is your way to go. Tracey J2025-03-05Verified Abisko - Aurora and so much more ….. I didn’t want to come home! This trip is a must if you want the best chance of seeing the Northern Lights whether you are a photographer or not. We had the most amazing week with heart-stopping displays every night in locations perfect for pictures or just watching in awe. Peter has thought of everything so once you join the tour, you can just relax and enjoy being looked after. Food - delicious (even for a fussy vegetarian / vegan like me)Hotel - clean and comfy with fantastic views and lovely staff. Cold weather gear provided by Peter - cozy and just what you need for long spells in the snowPhoto kit - lenses, tripods and even cameras all available to borrowBut most of all - Peter’s knowledge of the area, his hard work to provide the best experience for everyone and his photographic expertise meant that we got the best views of the Aurora each night and special and fun activities during the day - dog sledding, snow mobiling, Ice Hotel and trip to Naarvik. He works unbelievably hard! Small group of 7 guests made everything even more special and allowed us all to have our own space to enjoy and explore each location without crowds. The trip offers exceptional value for money as there is no way I would have been able to afford and enjoy each of the activities myself, let alone get to the nighttime locations without being part of Peter’s tour. This is my second trip with Peter and once again, I didn’t want to come home as Abisko is a very special place and once again, has stolen my heart completely. It is full of magic and beauty. Not just for the Aurora, but also the landscape, the peace and the gentle and interesting people. andyk2025-03-03Verified Perfect trip to see the northern light I went on this tour because I had a real desire to photograph the Northern Lights and the Lappland Media web site gave me confidence in Peter to deliver. And wow did he deliver.Obviously Peter doesn't control the Northern LIghts but he fully demonstrated his skills in planning our night trips to get the best chance to see the lights, and on the 3 nights I was there we say them every single night it was magical.Peter continually demonstrated his knowledge and skills in a friendly and supportive, welcoming manner - nothing seemed to be too much trouble for him to make the experience the best it could be.As well as seeing the northern lights Peter made sure that there were day trip activities to really drive value out of the visit - the dog sledging under blue skies over a frozen river was special as well.I am extremely grateful to Peter for giving me the chance to get some images of the lights under his guidance and I can totally recommend this for anyone who wants to see, photograph the northern lights or just for someone who wants to experience some time in an utterly gorgeous area of Sweden. Rob A2025-02-13Verified So amazing I did it twice I did this trip with the wife in 2023 and was so inspired from that adventure that I have done it again. There were a few changes from the last trip but still fanstastic. Peter's skill in finding the right spot to photograph the Northern Lights is amazing. Although Peter cannot make the lights dance for us, but when they do, the location Peter has taken to, the magnificent scenery of the foregound adds that 'wow' factor to your photographs. As last time Peter and David did everything and more to give us the best experiences from dog sledding, reindeer sledding, moose spotting, Ice Hotel visit, their tips and hints on using your camera and editing tips, welcome suggestions whilst taking photos ensured we all got the best results we possibly could.Whilst no one can ensure good weather, aurora experiences or moose sightings we were in the best hands to get the best opportunities and that we did. Will I be back for a third time? well, you never know I may get that itch to chase the lights again, and if I do it will definetly be with Peter and David. GPE562025-02-08Verified The Experience of a Lifetime An Unforgettable WeekMy husband and I spent a week with the knowledgeable and talented photographers at Lappland Media - Peter Rosén, David Evans and bonus photographer, Kelly Champion. It was beyond expectations - and will be an experience we will never forget. Our week started at the Aurora Wilderness Camp on the Torne River. After settling into our cabin (no tents or sleeping bags) and having the first of several amazing meals, we were greeted by a beautiful display of the northern lights. The next morning, before heading out on a dog sled excursion, we woke up to a moose feeding next to our cabin. Unforgettable. We also spent 3 nights in Abisko. One of the highlights of that part of our trip was being taken out into the back country to experience the forest and mountain landscape. We saw moose and ptarmigans and were also able to photograph the northern lights. A special night was listening to Peter tell the Sami tales of the stars while we sat by the river waiting for the lights to make an appearance. A northern lights photo tour hosted by Peter, David and Kelly is an adventure not to be missed. I am so grateful to them for making it a once in lifetime adventure. Dan E2025-02-08Verified A great adventure to see the northern lights and experience the beauty of Lappland. A trip is only as good as the people that are leading it. In this case they were great for many reasons. Peter Rosen is a scientist, researcher, and a photographer that has spent years living in Lappland, photographing the aurora and landscapes. Throughout the trip he shared his knowledge of the area, history, a little science, and of course was always there to help you with your photography.David Evans is also an award winning photographer. He and Peter have spent years putting this trip together and it really shows. This trip was well organized with contingency plans in place, just in case the weather does not cooperate. David was always there to share his knowledge and help people with their photography. We got a bonus on this trip. Photographer Kelly Champion joined us. She photographed much of the adventure and shared her experience and knowledge with us.Peter, David, and Kelly are great photographers but they are also fun and interesting people to share meals with and spend time with. They truly made this adventure fun.We booked this trip primarily to see the aurora. Fortunately we were able to see it 5 out of 7 nights. It was stunning. However this adventure was so much more. The whole trip was well organized and planned out. Each day was different and there was little down time. One day we went sledding with sled dogs. The ride was quiet and peaceful. We had a delicious lunch out in the wilderness and then returned to camp. The dogs were friendly and I got some beautiful photos. Another day we met a Sámi man who let us photograph his reindeer and go for a 5 kilometer ride on a sleigh being pulled by a reindeer. Afterwards he and his family provided a delicious lunch and talked about Sámi culture. He was a very interesting man.We went to the ice hotel. The whole facility is made of ice. Each years artists get together to build the hotel. There are numerous rooms each having a different theme. The hotel included a chapel and a bar. Their artwork was beautiful. And if you are brave you can schedule to spend the night there. We spent part of one day riding in a sleigh being pulled by a snowmobile. We followed a trail that took us through a forested area surrounded by hills and mountains. The snow covered scenery was spectacular. We saw a couple moose and beautiful white Ptarmigans. We stopped several places to take pictures of the beautiful scenery. The food on this trip was very good. We experienced the local cuisine including fish, moose, and reindeer. I was impressed by how good it was.I cannot cover every aspect of this trip because I am already getting too long. If you are looking for a great adventure, then I highly recommend booking your trip with LapplandMedia. You will not be disappointed. dduanee2024-03-06Verified Awe-inspiring, invigorating and educational trip to Northern Sweden Peter was a wonderful guide: knowledgeable, patient, flexible, creative and friendly are some of the adjectives that come to mind. With a background in science and photography, he has a wealth of experience and knowledge, both basic and esoteric, such that he is able to explain and expound upon the things we saw and experienced in a way that people with all levels of knowledge and sophistication can understand and learn. We saw the Aurora Borealis from several perspectives and came to well understand the variables that influence what the eye and the camera see. We saw many moose, some reindeer, ptarmigan, and even spotted a red fox. Beyond the Aurora, the snowmobiling and dogsledding were highlights (thanks Irina at Outback Abisko and Leah at Kiruna Dogsled!). We enjoyed a visit to the IceHotel where Peter explained the engineering and artistry that go into constructing the hotel every year. During a day's excursion to Norway to take in some of the fjords, we learned about the Sami people, their culture and history. We felt well cared-for at every step and would highly recommend Peter/LapplandMedia to anyone considering a visit to that part of the world.Verified by TrustindexTrustindex verified badge is the Universal Symbol of Trust.
